hello,

Ready to take the dust off your camera?

tell me more

Let's get you speaking about your business.

No beating around the bush here – the way to save your videos from falling flat is simple: MESSAGING.

According to trusty Google, the word “messaging” means this:

“Messaging is how a business communicates to its customers and highlights the value of its products.”

What does this actually mean? Well, to put this in perspective in how it relates to your business is the way in which you clearly communicate:

💁🏼‍♀️who you are
🙋🏽‍♀️what you do
🙆🏻‍♀️how you serve your audience

👩🏾‍🦳how you help your customers

If you’re not clear on these four things, it will be really hard for your viewer to fully understand how they could be a potential customer for you.

Rather watch that read? Head on over to my Youtube channel and where I put face to camera and explain!

So, what’s a business owner to do?

First, understand the importance of messaging.

I mean, really understand it. The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t matter how fancy your camera is, or how much money you spend on a video editor, or how much time you spend trying to create the perfect thumbnail…

If the core topic of what you’re talking about (a.k.a. your messaging), doesn’t make sense on camera, then none of the other things matter.

Things to think about and ask yourself:

👉🏼 How can you explain yourself or the topic that you’re talking about on camera, as clearly as possible?

👉🏽 How is your content going to grab someone’s attention?

👉🏿 Are you being entertaining or are you actually providing value? Or both?

You want your viewer to walk away feeling like they learned something new, enjoyed the delivery of this new information and now, want to learn more! And from you! They feel so good about the content they just consumed and now they want to sign up for your freebie, subscribe to your newsletter or join your programs.

Understanding the importance of your messaging is the first step in really leveraging video in your business.

Second, refine your messaging.

Once you’re clear on why your messaging is so important, it’s time to actually refine it and come up with clear messaging for your business and your videos.

But how do you do that?

Things to think about and ask yourself:

👉🏼 It’s going to take time, through trial and error. This is something that took me many months, (even potentially years if I’m being completely honest), to really refine the messaging of what I offer, what I want to be offering, and who it is that I specifically help.

If you feel like you’re all over the place – that’s completely normal! We’ve all been there.

👉🏽 After working with specific customers or just having conversations with people that you want to be working with, asking what felt right?

👉🏿How do you want to talk about yourself? How do you want to talk about the things that you are offering?

👉🏾 Spending the time writing things out, journaling and describing your process and offers.

Think of it as if you were writing a book – the first draft is never going to be the draft that actually gets printed. You have to come up with the first manuscript and from there you start editing.

As much as I love talking about the logistical aspects of filming videos for Youtube – the light equipment and lighting and backgrounds… – The secret sauce is really in the messaging and video strategy, and what will move the needle in your business.

Inside of my group coaching program, the Video Accelerator, we talk A LOT about all of this.

If you follow me on social media or are on my email list, you already know that I’m bringing back my Video Accelerator program next month! If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a six week hands-on group coaching experience with yours truly.

We meet every single week for six weeks and you get a weekly coaching call with me, as well as a weekly critique and feedback on your videos and on your business. This is so tailored and customized to your business that I only have 10 spots available. I want to emphasize that this is not a course!

If you’ve been wanting to work with me, this is a great opportunity. Together, we’ll make progress in your business and on your video strategy, and really up-level how you use a video in your business to really market and sell your offers

We’re starting really soon, so sign up today! I would love to have you!

And that’s a wrap! Remember, the more experience you have, the more refined your messaging will get, and that’s how you’ll gain the clarity and confidence in saying who you are, what you do, and sharing it all on camera. If you’re looking to get more comfortable on camera, be sure to watch this video, next!
